The Need For Divine Leadership

In the real sense, humans cannot exist without leadership. I’m aware that not everyone has a leader figure in their life, but everyone, without exemption, is led one way or the other.

Sometimes, you’re led by the road signs or by the traffic light. At some other times, you are led by an idea you got from somewhere or through someone. Hence, we are all being led in one way or the other.

I want to guess that you believe in God’s leading, if I’m correct, that’s probably why you clicked on this title: How God leads you to your spouse. That’s great! This post is just for you.

Hundreds of thousands or perhaps hundreds of millions of folks are seeking an answer to how to be led to their spouse. Adjust your seat. Sit comfortably as I take you through this journey to answer your question.

God Leads And Wants To Lead You To Your Spouse Through:

God may lead you to your spouse through:

  1. Association: God may lead you and connect you to your spouse through family and friends.
  2. Occasions: God may connect you to your spouse through hangout, official meeting or birthday party.
  3. Intuition: You may meet anyone for the first time and have the “I Just Know”  feeling that is similar to ‘love at first sight’.
  4. Strong Emotion: In this case, an inexplicable intense feeling of love may just rise in you towards someone you have known or just met. No matter how much you fight it, it won’t leave.
  5. Revelation: God may decide to lead you to your spouse through dreams, vision, trance, prophecy or whatever means that is not natural.
  6. Divine Orchestrations: Divine orchestration is a way God chooses to make known his will to us. He’ll put up the situation and circumstances of your meeting supernaturally. You would know it was God that brought you together.

God leads His people. Everyone who is connected to Him is entitled to divine Guidance. He’s our father who is very interested in every area of our lives. Just as He cares about your spiritual life, so He cares about your physical life.

God wants to give you a specific divine direction in marriage. Since it’s in His pleasure to lead in your choice of marriage, it’s important to find out how God leads you to your spouse.

Does God Predestine Your Spouse?

This is perhaps one of the most controversial issues in Christian marriage. It really needs to be clarified if God has predestinated you for somebody.

A sect believes that there is a particular person for everyone to be married to. Another believes that God doesn’t decide for you about marriage, but that you are to make your choice as an individual.

Actually, none of these sects is correct. This will be clarified shortly. While I do that, I’ll be as practical as possible and allow you to see by yourself while the two sects got it wrong somewhere along the line.

God does not predestinate your spouse. No, he doesn’t. Come to think of it, what if the predestinated person doesn’t like you? What if the predestinated person got involved in an accident and died? What if the predestinated spouse is a patient in the psychiatric? Anything could happen to the so-called predestinated spouse.

If any of these situations above happened, would you remain unmarried? Would that mean there is no spouse for God to lead you to? That’s not correct.

Now, on the second school of thought that says God doesn’t involve in our choice of marriage, but that we are to choose based on our choice and preferences. If this is correct, where do we put Proverbs 3:5-7 which says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Note that the bible says “seek his (God’s) will in ALL you do”. We are to seek to know the will of God in everything we do, and the choice of marriage is inclusive.

Also, the bible says in Proverbs 19:14, “Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth, but only the LORD can give an understanding wife.” This implies that God is interested in whom you marry; in fact, he’s the One to GIVE you the best for you.

And He doesn’t GIVE WIFE alone, He also gives husband according to proverbs 20:6 “Many a man proclaims his own steadfast love, but a faithful man who can find?” I believe this means “who can find a faithful man by mere human wisdom, except the Lord gives”.

The sect who believes that the decision of who to marry is all yours thinks Proverbs 18:22 “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD”; meaning that you are to find for yourself and by yourself. But that’s not the correct interpretation of that bible verse. It means, “He who (by depending on God for direction and wisdom) finds a wife, finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD”.

We are God’s children, and He does not expect us to do anything, including the choice of marriage without counsel from him.

This Is The Correct Perspective

Certainly, God wouldn’t force anyone on you, but in his infinite wisdom, he knows what’s best for you. He knows the best spouse for you and he can lead them to you or lead you to them. However, you must be ready to be led by him. You must acknowledge him in your choice of spouse, and he’ll direct your path to the best. This is the balanced perspective.

Does God predestine your spouse? A capital No. But you must depend on Him to lead you to the best person for you; because not everyone is good for you.

Think about it like this: if you have a Toyota Corolla 2018 model car and need to change the bonnet that got squeezed in the course of an accident. You don’t just go to pick any car bonnet that you like. No. even if you love the Mercedes 2018 bonnet, you can’t fix it with your Toyota Corolla 2018 car. They are not compatible! Only Toyota Corolla 2018 model bonnet will fit perfectly well.

So is the case of how God leads you to your spouse. He leads you to the suitable. Sometimes, not necessarily what you love best, but what is best for you.

Now, it would be wrong to say, only one particular Toyota Corolla 2018 bonnet, that can be found only in a particular spare-parts shop can fit perfectly well for your car. No. that’s not true. Any Toyota Corolla 2018 bonnet will work perfectly well for you. So, your spouse is not predestined, but there is a specific specification that will suit you best.

These specifications are not only found in just one man or woman; they can be found in any man or woman, but are also not found in every man or woman. I hope you got that explanation. If not, kindly read it again.

Remember, the first marriage, in the garden of Eden, God brought them together. What God made for Adam was a SUITABLE Help meet. Someone who will perfectly suit him. And that’s what God does, even now. If you’ll depend on him for leadership, he’ll lead you to your spouse, the one that will suit you the most.

How to find a godly man to marry or how to find a godly wife is not difficult if you’re ready to find out how God leads you to your spouse and follow it accordingly. God’s choice in marriage is very important, and you cannot afford to go against His choice.

The Place of Prayer in Choosing Who to Marry

Anyone who is not committed to prayer will not be able to access divine direction in marriage and in any other area of life. Prayer places you at the receiving end where you can know How God leads you to your spouse. The place of prayer in choosing who to marry is very important. It is one of the ways you acknowledge God; and as you do, He’ll direct your path.

“In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil” (Proverbs 3:5-7).

Of course, God is an All-knowing God. However, do not assume God knows about it, tell Him by your mouth. Even though He already knows everything about you, yet He wants to be informed and given permission before He can interfere.

As you place a priority on the place of prayer in choosing who to marry, you reduce your chances of making mistakes.

Your prayer is what gives God legal permission to interfere in your matters. God will not intrude into your life without your permission. Until prayer is offered, He may not show up to give you divine direction in marriage. Divine direction becomes a norm when prayers become your custom.

His words say, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”(Jeremiah 33:3). This implies that He cannot answer unless He’s called upon. This is God’s system of answered prayer. Prayerful people have special attention from God. Prayer makes God interested in your matter especially.

When you make prayer the bedrock of your marital decision, peace, and joy of the Spirit will be your daily experience in that marriage.

The foundation of your marriage is so important, and it’s best built on God. When God is your foundation, you become higher than falling. He can prevent you from falling all the way.

Prayer shows that you need divine help on the matter of concern. Prayer tells God that you are not wise enough to make the right decision, calling His assistance and guidance to go the right way. Anyone who feels sufficient enough in himself will never see a reason to pray. Prayer is for those who have come to a point of recognition where they know they are nothing without God.

Prayer should be your disposition towards God when you’re getting tired of waiting on God for a husband or wife. Truly, the delay can be wearisome. Waiting can be very tiring. But if you have a culture of prayers, God will always strengthen your mind until your time comes.

Marriage Prophecy : Why You Should Be Careful

Prophecy is the art of foretelling the counsel of God or the prediction of the future by the inspiration of the Spirit. Prophecy is a vital organ in the Christian faith, and God operates by it. It’s the declaration of the divine will over a thing, or for a thing.

Marriage Prophecy can be said to be the declaration of the will of God concerning or over marriage. This is a definite guide to help you know how God leads you to your spouse and who God is leading you to marry.

While it is very important to seek to hear from God on who to marry, you must also be careful of prophecies on marriage. Don’t get it wrong. God speaks through prophecy, but not all prophecies are from God.

Many marriages that happened based on prophecies that were not properly confirmed has become a broken home. My heart breaks for such marriages. This is why I’m interested in helping you understand how God can lead you to your spouse, without depending solely on prophecy.

The truth is, prophecies can be influenced by personal preferences or intuition. Basing your life on that alone is too risky. You, therefore, need something more reliable to confirm the prophecies coming concerning your marriage.

Confirmation from God on Who to Marry

Every genuine follower of God will seek to affirm their decisions from Him, especially regarding their decisions in the choice of who to marry. Before we can talk about confirmation from God on who to marry, we need to talk about How God leads you to your spouse first. When you know how to know His will, confirming it will not be difficult.

The same way God gives you a divine direction in other areas of your life before marriage comes into the picture is the same way He will give you a divine direction in marriage. If you have not been having a close walk with Him before marriage comes on board, it may not be too easy for you to find out how God leads you to your spouse.

The following are ways God leads you to your spouse.

Watch out: when God wants you with someone this will happen:

1. It Happens Naturally

If you have to force yourself over that fellow, God is probably not leading you. When God leads, He also clears the path.

Check the circumstances behind how you met, you’ll certainly see that God was orchestrating things even when you were not aware at all.

2. Love Grows

Genuine love grows and does not diminish over time. How to know that God is leading you to the ‘one’, is that your love and affection for that person continuously grow.

Unlike infatuation that wanes gradually, godly inspired love grows.

3. Peace of Mind

The basic way God leads a believer is through inward witness accompanied with peace. When you got born again, there was no external evidence to confirm your new birth in Christ. It was an inward assurance that proves to you that you’re born of Him. You believe it and you remain a child of God, forever.

When it comes to a marital decision, you must engage your inward witness to know the position of God regarding the person in the picture. If the person in the picture is the divine will for your life, God will fill your heart with peace that you cannot articulate about the person, if that’s the choice of God for you in marriage. But if that’s not His will for you, He will withdraw your inward peace; hence, there will be unrest in your heart.

Every sensitive child of God should know that if he/she doesn’t have peace about a thing, it is a sign that shows God is not approving it. If God’s peace isn’t there, He is not there. Peace of God is our primary leader in the path He wants us to take. It’s important to check the state of peace in your heart to confirm how God leads you to your spouse.

4. Compatibility

3 ways God will reveal the one to you is that it will come with Peace, Joy, and compatibility of both Purpose and Character. You might be a coin of different sides but you’ll always find yourself compatible. When God wants you with someone this will happen.

Marriage is not about looking for somebody who looks exactly like you but about looking for somebody compatible with you.

5. The Other Person Needs Not To Be Cajoled

One of the major signs that God is leading you to your spouse is that he/she doesn’t need to be cajoled into the relationship.

You’ll both be convinced that the universe wants you to be together. The God who led you to that fellow, knows how to convince him/her that you’re meant for each other.

6. Purpose Alignment

Another way you can seek confirmation on who to marry is by running a purpose-check. Marriage is not just for fun; it’s designed for several purposes.

Your purpose is the reason for your existence. God has your purpose in view about everything He wants to bring into your life. The reason why God wants to bless you with unlimited resources, good health, and peace is so that you can be enabled to fulfill your purpose.

If God has given you a purpose to fulfill, He will also give you a partner to match up with it. When God wants you with someone this will happen.

If the person you’re considering doesn’t compliment your purpose, that person cannot be for you. This doesn’t mean the person has to be exactly like you, but he/she must complement God’s purpose for you.

When God sends your husband or wife, he/she will be a partner to help achieve His purpose for your life. The true test of the rightness of your partner is the ability of that person to fit into God’s purpose for your life without conflict. If both of you are having conflicting interests or passion, God couldn’t have sent the person.

Once again, your purpose doesn’t have to be identical, but it must not be conflicting.

7. Approval From Authorities

Haha, this may sound odds at first sight; but it’s not.

It is important that you consider the consent of an authority figure over you. An authority figure over you should have a say over your choice of who to marry. Of course, He/She doesn’t decide for you, but the person, whose judgement you trust, should be involved in your decision-making.

This authority figure may be your parent, spiritual leaders or whoever you’re certain loves you, wants the best for you and has a right sense of judgement without sentiment.

You didn’t evolve from the soil; you were born by somebody. One of the signs that God wants you to marry a particular person is that the authority figure over your life consents to it.

It’s not right to say that, what your parents have to say doesn’t matter all because you are obsessed. God expects you to honor your parents or any authority figure over you, for such, attracts a blessing from above.

Therefore, if you find your parents not liking your decision, be patient with them, and trust God to convince them. It may take a little time, but He will always clear the way for you. When God wants you with someone this will happen.

In nutshell, Check your inward peace, compatibility, alignment of purpose, and the consent of the authority figures over your life. These will give you a confirmation on who to marry. If you got a yes from all of these, you’re good to go.

To avoid making this post too long, I have written a post for you to learn how God speaks and ways to confirm His voice. Afterward, you may come back to this post to pray the powerful prayers I have prepared for you on your marriage.

When God Shows You Your Future Husband

By whatever means, when God shows you your future husband or wife, you’ll just know it.

Yes, at first, for some reasons, you may not completely want the person, because of preconceived desires of what you want your partner to be or look like. However, ‘something’ in you, will continue to affirm that “this is my would-be partner”.

Overtime, if you keep an open mind, and make (or allow) some level of relationship with the person, you’ll gradually begin to love and accept them in spite of their shortcomings.

Miracle Prayer to Get Married Soon

Nothing is beyond God’s ability. He can do anything at any time. The reason why we can depend upon God is that He cannot be stranded on the needful materials to make His plans come into reality. When we engage ourselves in miracle prayers to get married soon, we activate the miraculous power of God.

God works wonders as of old. His power has not diminished and it will never diminish. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What a powerful God of stable character we serve. You can depend on Him if only you can keep your faith strong in Him. He will give you a miracle to get married soon, even sooner than you expected.

If God could divide the red sea, what can He not do? If God could make a barren become a mother, what can He not do? If God can create the world in six days, what can He not do? He’s able if only you can put your trust in Him without wavering. You will know how God leads you to your spouse and give you a miracle to make your marriage come into being.

You need your faith to connect to His miraculous power to bring your marriage into reality. When you do a miracle prayer to get married soon, you must do it in faith without any doubt in your heart.

” If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let, not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord” (James 1:5-6).

It’s good to pray but it’s better to pray with faith. Faith is the vital ingredient of prayers. You need to come to a point of persuasion in your heart that you know that God is capable of doing what you’re demanding of Him.

If you’re not fully persuaded that He can do it, you cannot stay through until He answers your prayers. If you truly believe in God, you’ll exercise every needed patience it requires to lay claims on your answers.

When you want to pray, pray with the scripture. Praying in ignorance is as good as not praying at all. Knowledge is an advantage when it comes to prayer. You need to know the will of God for your marriage so that you can pray with certainty. If you are not sure of the will of God for your marriage, your confidence in place of prayers will not be full. Find out from the word of God, what He has said concerning your marriage and turn it to prayer.

Prophetic Prayers on Marriage

It’s God’s custom to speak before He performs a thing. The nature of the kingdom is that it cannot come to pass if you have not spoken it into being. When you know the will of God for your marriage, it will become the declaration of your mouth and then it will become the experience of your Life.

I will take you through some marriage prophecy so that you can engage them to make the will of God stand in your marriage. Marriage is a product of the utterances of God, it will take the utterances aligned with His utterances to make you experience a glorious marriage. Below are the prophetic prayers to help you furnish your marriage.

✓ Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:26-28)

In line with the prophetic will of God for my marriage, I declare that I’m blessed and fruitful in the name of Jesus. I’m enabled to multiply by the power of God. I increase greatly until I fill the earth. I subdue challenges, I crush mountains, and have dominion in the affairs of my marital life in the name of Jesus. Nothing shall dominate me, I shall be above only I cannot be beneath in the name of the Lord Jesus.

✓”So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days”. (Exodus 23:25-26)

I’m born again, I’m a servant of God. As a result of this fact, I’m blessed by the Lord. My bread and water are blessed and I cannot be sick in my body. I decree that I cannot suffer a miscarriage in my marriage in the name of Jesus. I cannot be barren because the Lord has ordained me for fruitfulness and multiplication in the name of Jesus. I will fulfill the number of my days in my marriage and my expectations cannot be cut short in the name of Jesus.

✓”He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD”. (Proverbs 18:22)

Marriage is the will of God which I have found. I, therefore, decree that it brings a favor into my life. The blessings of the Lord flow into my life because I’m married. My marriage is not a burden but a blessing. I shall not lack anything good in my life.

[“Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the LORD”. (Proverbs 19:14)”Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above” (Proverbs 13:10).

I decree that my wife is prudent and virtuous. Her virtue and wisdom bring me into the limelight. She’s found among the nobles and everyone calls me blessed in the city in the name of Jesus. She is a helper indeed, not a burden in the name of Jesus.

I and the children whom the LORD has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion. (Isaiah 8:18)

Myself, my wife, and our children are for signs and wonders in this world. Our family promotes the blessings of the Lord. We bring glory to His name. Our family shall be known for excellence, blessings, glory, wisdom, abundance in the name of Jesus. We bring a positive influence into our immediate community and effect a positive change in the name of Jesus.

✓”For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man” (I Corinthians 11:7)

My wife is ordained to be my glory. I, therefore, decree that she’s my glory indeed. She cannot bring shame to me and my family. Her ways are the ways of excellence and nothing shall offend her in the name of Jesus. The glory of the Lord upon her shall only increase, it shall not diminish in the name of Jesus. As we advance in our union, we shine brighter and brighter unto the perfect days in the name of Jesus.

I have just shown you what should be the declaration of your mouth to determine the experience of your life. If you make this Marriage Prophecy your routine, your experience can never be different.

God will lead you to the center of His will as long as you are submissive to His leading. He’s promised to teach you in the way that you should go and guide you with His eyes. God is more eager to lead you than you want to be led. As you seek to find out how God leads you to your spouse, the divine direction is ascertained.

I’m convinced you’ve been blessed. Consider leaving a comment and share with family and friends to enrich them as well.
